St. Croix USVI is the most underrated and unrecognized dive scene in the Caribbean in which the entire island is surrounded by a barrier reef. It offers superb underwater dives for beginners to the most advanced diver. Like the fishing on the island, fantastic diving can be found just minutes from the banks and in some cases reachable by beach.
One of the biggest draws to the island is the fascinating wall that runs along the entire north shore. Here you can view excellent brain or black coral at just 30’ deep or swim deeper with the dolphin, mantas, and sharks along the drop off that extends to depths of 13,000 feet. Advanced scuba divers will find the steepest wall in the world near the western end around Davis or Cane Bay as well as various underwater wreck sites of sunken ships and downed planes. On the east side of the island there is very active marine life and borders the 300’ Salt River Canyon. Just like the name says, Scubawest is located on the west side of St. Croix, on the waterfront in the town of Frederiksted. Because of their location, Scubawest is the closest dive shop to some of St. Croix's most interesting dives.
