Road Town is located on Tortola Island. Road Town is derived from the nautical term "the roads", a place less sheltered than a harbour but which ships can easily get to. Road Town is the capital as well as the business and financial center of the British Virgin Islands (BVI). In recent years, the harbour has evolved into a busy hub for visiting cruise ships & sailors from all over the world.
